Where are we now?

2011 Smoke Testing Continues

Due to the increase in smoke testing crews and momentum of these crews, we are unable to continue posting maps of current locations.  However, please watch for the notices (see below), signs, and crews in your area.

Please check all doors for notices daily.

NOTICE

SMOKE TESTING

SEWERS

Our work crews will be conducting smoke tests of sanitary sewers in your area during the timeframe below:

________________________________________________________________

Beginning at 7:30 AM each morning

These tests will assist us in locating breaks and defects in the sewer system.  During the test, YOU MAY SEE SMOKE COMING FROM VENT STACKS ON BUILDINGS OR FROM HOLES IN THE GROUND.  Don’t be alarmed.  The smoke has no odor, is non-toxic, non-staining, does not create a fire hazard, and will dissipate in a few minutes.

Before we conduct the smoke test, please pour water into your basement floor drains and into any unused sinks.  This will seal the drain traps so that smoke will not enter your building through the drain.

If smoke appears in your residence and you need assistance in removing the smoke, contact the personnel conducting the tests, or call 425-1875 for assistance only.

If for any reason the testing should be delayed or postponed, you will be re-notified prior to the next scheduled dates.
