Construction has concluded for the public safety dispatch area and the police department renovation . Currently, there are eight full time Public Safety Dispatchers providing the citizens of Oak Ridge with uninterrupted prompt answering to emergency and non-emergency calls for service for the Police Department, Fire Department, and Ambulance Service. In order to meet the Computer Aided Dispatch Requirements for Vision Software, two DELL Pentium II 400Mhz computers were purchased, as were dual 21" monitors for both dispatch stations. The dispatch area was also outfitted with wrap-around style workstations to maximize available space for the new location. In order to operate GEO maps in the future, it is anticipated that quad video cards will be used since the GEO map needs one monitor itself. The City of Oak Ridge operates off of 800Mhz Motorola radios. For additional information regarding
