The Oak Ridge Civic Center, built in 1970, is a 39,242 square feet building consisting of 2 large meeting room, 2 small meeting rooms and a full size gymnasium. The building is situated near the city center in a 41-acre park area. The facility is available for rental for business as well as personal events. The gym is available for free play basketball as use permits. There is also an indoor pool that is open for public use on a varying schedule and an outdoor pavilion that is used for concerts and other events. The facility is located at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Classification is determined by primary usage. Users will be classified as follows for the purpose of determining rental rates:

This class will help you to look and feel better as well as give you more energy. Exercise for fitness is an instructional exercise class which meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Each class includes stretching, toning, and cardiovascular exercise. Variety is the key to the success of this popular class. Steps, slides, weights, gym balls, stretch bands, and dance are all used to help each participant reach his/her fitness goals. Classes meet year round. Fees are $28.00 per month or $5 per class (non-resident fee $20.00 one time per fiscal year). Register at the Civic Center Information Desk. The City of Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department, in conjunction with the All American Youth Activities organization, is sponsoring a summer session of cheerleading classes for children ages 4 - 15. Classes are held on Thursday nights. This exciting cheerleading program will provide the children with the opportunity to make friends and have lots of fun. Participants will learn choreographed Pom-Pom dance routines designed to improve coordination, physical fitness, flexibility and the ability to work with others. They will also learn jumps, leaps, splits, small stunts and other fun things. The $7 registration fee and the $10 non-resident fee (where applicable) are due at the time of registration. Pilates improves breathing and posture, tones muscle, restores natural alignment, and improves strength, flexibility and endurance. Participants will learn the proper techniques and movements of Basic Pilates. Fees for the program are $52 per session or $8 per class. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. and the first class is free. Janice Greenwood is the instructor for the class. Participants may register for the class at the Civic Center Monday through Saturday 8 am to 10 pm. A $20 non-resident fee will be charged where applicable. The City of Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department is sponsoring a monthly crop opportunity for area scrapbookers. One Friday and/or Saturday each month is set aside for cropping from 8 am to 10 pm. Cost to participate is $5 per day. Croppers must be out of the room by 10 pm each evening. A refrigerator, microwave, sink and stove are available for use. A vending area is located in the building. Space is limited and is assigned on a first come basis. Reservations can be made by calling the Civic Center information desk at 425-3450. 2009 monthly crop dates are as follows:
